The GO Group reported today that during the first quarter of this year it saw growth in turnover but a drop in revenue from both fixed line and mobile telephony.

In a company announcement, the group said it had maintained positive trends in its turnover levels which continued to grow when compared to Q1 2010.

Growth was driven by the group’s TV business, broadband, data and related services.

Fixed-line voice and mobile services experienced a decline reflecting the significant competitive environment within which the group is operating.  The group continued to strengthen its overall client base.

GO said it was continuing to focus on its  cost structures and during the period any material increases in
costs were directly related to increased levels of business. It was also continuing its efforts  to right size its operations.

Group operating profit in the quarter was also marginally ahead of that registered during the first quarter last year.
