Go has launched a mobile tariff tailor made for students to coincide with the new scholastic year.

The students' plan entitles subscribers to 200 free text messages to all Go numbers, free calls to one Go mobile student number, text messaging at 2c to any network, calls at €0.07c a minute to all Go mobile, Go fixed line and MTV Mobile, unlimited free Go mobile weekend calls for €2 and one month access for free on subscription to the Laptop Connect data tariff plan.

All students holding a valid Smart Card can benefit by sending an SMS with their Smart Card number to 5070 5570.Students of the Institute of Tourism Studies can also avail themselves of the tariff by sending as SMS with their full ID card to the same number.

Go has enhanced this year's Students' Plan by allowing customers registered on this plan to make use of various add-ons. Students can opt to purchase an SMS bundle of 250 SMS to all networks for €5. Students can also opt to activate the unlimited Go mobile weekend calls option for €2 for 28 days. Existing students on the Go students' plan will have their students' tariff plan automatically renewed.

When subscribing to the Go Laptop Connect mobile internet tariff, students are able to opt between the Macbook MC 240 at €55.99 monthly, the HP Compaq 610 at €45.99 monthly, or the Netbook Lenovo Ideapad S10 at €35.99 monthly.

Meanwhile Go has announced that it has absorbed its top-up administration charge covering three per cent excise tax and the three per cent increase in VAT on its 'Pay As You Go' mobile top-up cards from last Thursday. Go prepaid customers will now get the full value of the top-up.
