Bank of Valletta has been named the best bank in Malta for 2008 by Global Finance.
BOV is included in the list of Best Emerging Market Banks in Central and Eastern Europe in an exclusive survey to be published in the May 2008 issue of Global Finance.
Criteria for choosing the winners included growth in assets, profitability, strategic relationships, customer service, competitive pricing and innovative products.
"Winning this prestigious award for the third year running underlines the strength of the BOV brand in the Maltese market," CEO Tonio Depasquale said.
This is the 15th year that the US-based financial publication has selected top banking performers.
Commenting on the results, Joseph Giarraputo, publisher and president of Global Finance said: "We identified the banks that provide service to corporations seeking to take advantage of substantial opportunities for growth in a sometimes challenging environment".
This is the latest accolade won by the bank in past months including being named, for the third consecutive year, as the FT Bank of the Year for Malta.
