Following an internal restructuring exercise and a recruitment drive, Global Capital plc has appointed Adrian Galea as chief operations officer (COO) and Anton Callus as head of human resources.

Mr Galea joined the company nine years ago and has occupied various posts, including operations, compliance, fund advisory, risk management, internal audit and HR.

As COO, he will be responsible for most of the centralised services units including IT, human resources, fund administration, investment operations, administration department, call centre and customer services.

Mr Callus will join Global Capital as head of human resources with effect from August 1.

He is specialised in HR and has held similar posts with Crimsonwing and Malta Enterprise.

He has over 15 years' experience and will shortly receive a doctorate degree in Education from the University of Nottingham.

"Our internal restructuring exercise will help us transform Global Capital into a more efficient and effective operation. We are gearing up for the further development of the group and are currently preparing our structures to cater for these new initiatives," Global Capital chief executive officer Niki Portelli said.

"The latest recruitment drive bears witness to the group's strength as a market leader in financial services.

The positive response received from interested candidates clearly indicates a high degree of brand attractiveness.

"We are very pleased that the Global Capital brand is recognised as a preferred career development opportunity and we plan to continue strengthening our teams with more new members joining soon," he said.
