I refer to the excellent manifestation of the sacred and Holy Mass which was concelebrated by the Pope at the Granaries in Floriana on Sunday. Congratulations to all concerned. Thank God, it seems everything proceded without a hitch. I could not go personally due to the age factor but I, and most probably many others, followed everything on television.

During the last stages of the Holy Mass, when the Holy Eucharist was being distributed to the faithful present, it was quite fitting, rightly so and also very beautiful, that the maestro, organist, the other musicians and the choir interpreted the hymn Nadurawk Ja Ħobż Tas-Sema (T'Adoriam Ostia Divina), the music of which was written by Maltese composer Giuseppe Caruana, which he composed specifically for the International Eucharistic Congress held in Malta in 1913, to words by our national poet Dun Karm Psaila.

TVM's narrator gave the fullest praise to Dun Karm for this hymn, well and good, but he never uttered one single word on the composer of this ever beautiful and popular hymn, which is now known throughout the world. Surely, Mro Caruana deserved to be mentioned alongside Dun Karm especially on this particular occasion when we had the Pope himself con-celebrating Mass in Malta.

I very much hope that things like this will not happen again; when names are mentioned, both the author and the composer (not to mention also the arranger of the music sometimes) should be mentioned, in other words "give full praise to whom it is due". Don't leave anybody out.
