The glamorous girlfriends of racing drivers Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton have given the McLaren pair a new spring in their step since reuniting after bust-ups this season.

Button, 30, the defending drivers' world champion, and Hamilton, 25, who won the title in 2008, both split with their female partners before patching up their differences and getting back together.

Button split with his girlfriend Jessica Michibata, a model, in May after a reported 18-month relationship, but two months later they were back as a pairing - with Michibata making a return to the Formula One paddock at this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix.

Hamilton broke up with his girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger, who is a singer with the American pop group Pussycat Dolls, last year, but they also got back together earlier this year.

Button said: "Jessica's only here for the weekend and then she has to go back to Japan for some work.

"I'll see her again in August for our summer break which will be nice, but it's great having her back here. It really is.

"It just makes me happier. You have bad days and you have good days, but on the bad days she puts a smile on your face!

"I don't mean in a weird way - I mean she's just such a lovely person, but we're not going to have any bad days. We've agreed we're going to have a really good weekend."

Seasoned paddock observers are now wondering how long the relationships will last this time around, and how well the two girls get along as friends while their boyfriends are fighting it out for the world title.

Hamilton currently leads the standings with 157 points ahead of countryman Button on 143 after 11 of this year's 19 races.

They are rarely seen together at the same race weekend and speculation suggests that they do not like to share the limelight.

Scherzinger made one of her appearances at the Turkish Grand Prix in late May, the first after Button had split with Michibata.
