A teenage girl was remanded in custody on Wednesday after being accused in court of attacking her mother with a knife and slightly injuring her.

The incident happened last week.

The girl, 15, was also accused of disobeying police orders, damaging a police station, breaching the peace, causing her mother to fear violence, breaching a probation order and relapsing.

She pleaded not guilty but no request for bail was made.

Magistrate Monica Vella ordered the drawing up of a treatment plan for the girl, who looked visibly agitated during the hearing.

Dr Jason Grima was defence counsel.
