On-loan forward Sebastian Giovinco sent out a message to his regular employers Juventus as he scored a brace in Parma's 4-1 thrashing away to the Turin giants today.
Having struggled for the last couple of years to establish himself at Juve, Giovinco went on loan to Parma this season in a bid to find first team football.
But he came back to haunt his permanent employers with a well taken double that badly hits Juve's title chances.
They now sit five points off leaders AC Milan but having played a game more and could even lose fourth place by the end of the day.
Following Giovinco's brace Juve centre-back Nicola Legrottaglie pulled a goal back but Hernan Crespo's penalty sealed the three points before substitute Raffaele Palladino's injury-time finish added insult to injury.
Juve were eventually overrun largely due to playing most of the game with 10 men following Brazil midfielder Felipe Melo's sending off for violent conduct after only 17 minutes.
Parma put some distance between themselves and the drop zone, moving up to 10th.
Crespo couldn't hide his delight at the victory.
"This is a huge win against a team in fine form that's fighting for the title," he told SkySport.
"We played very well against Inter Milan and Palermo but got little out of those games.
"We were fed up with playing great and getting little but today was complete."
Juve had a shout for a penalty on 12 minutes as Milos Krasic went down somewhat easily under pressure from Blerim Dzemaili but his appeals were waved away.
Five minutes later Melo lost his head, kicking his studs into Massimo Paci's face as the pair tangled on the ground and he was rightly shown a straight red.
Juve thought they had the lead midway through the half as Parma goalkeeper Antonio Mirante dropped an Alessandro Del Piero free-kick but dived on it on the line only for Giorgio Chiellini to kick it out of his hands and in.
However it was chalked off.
Parma went in front on 41 minutes after an inviting cross from Cristian Zaccardo found Crespo climbing high above Frederik Sorensen but Marco Storari made a miraculous save to keep his header out only for Giovinco to crash the rebound high into the roof of the net from a tight angle.
And three minutes into the second period Giovinco struck again, showing great control with his right foot to collect Andrea Candreva's pull back before shooting home with his left.
Diplomatically, Giovinco refused to celebrate either goal.
Juventus seemed to have found a route back into the game moments after Simone Pepe crashed a free-kick off the post as Legrottaglie headed home a corner.
But then Crespo went down in the box under a Chiellini challenge and dusted himself down to slam home the penalty on 62 minutes.
Palldino's finish with the last kick of the game preceded some expected jeers from the home fans.
