Malta coach Pietro Ghedin has finalised his 20-man squad for the friendly match against Moldova on Thursday.

From the provisional list announced last week, Ghedin yesterday omitted Jean Paul Farrugia, currently playing on loan with Sliema Wanderers from Hibs, and Qormi’s Terence Vella. The two young forwards were, however, instructed to report for training today as they remain on standby.

Making a return to the squad are a host of players who missed the 2-0 defeat to Jordan in November for different reasons.

Hibs keeper Justin Haber has been recalled after being overlooked for the Jordan game while midfielder Rowen Muscat, now with Lega Pro club AC Pavia, is also back in favour with Ghedin after being dropped for the Istanbul trip for disciplinary reasons.

Valletta duo Jonathan Caruana and Ryan Camilleri and defender Zach Muscat, now on the books of Sicilian club Akragas, are also making a comeback after missing the previous international due to injuries.
