Based on the eponymous Marvel Comics character, Deadpool is an upcoming game that will soon be released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It will be rated for mature audiences because it contains intense violence, mature humour, sexual content and strong language.

Deadpool is a third-person action game, with new combos becoming available to Deadpool as he progresses. Gameplay is a combination of melee and shooting, with huge emphasis on swords and guns.

Deadpool also frequently verbally interacts with the players, depending on their skill and progress. For instance, in the options menu, he taps your monitor to ask if you have any female company. Deadpool also instructs you to press certain buttons for specific commands. When presented with the right combination of platforms, Deadpool suggests new moves.

Combat gameplay relies heavily on using the character’s arsenal of swords and guns – you also have the option to equip more irregular weapons like sledgehammers. Deadpool possesses an accelerated healing factor but he will slowly fall apart as he sustains damage.

Players are presented with the choice of either reattaching severed limbs or waiting for them to grow again.

Deadpool was first announced at the 2012 San Diego Comic Con and shortly after the announcement, Marvel’s official website confirmed the development of the game.

Sadly, a release date has not yet been made official and the only existing clue is that the game will be released this year.
