Premier League leaders Liverpool stumbled again at home today, needing two Steven Gerrard goals to salvage a point in a 2-2 draw with Hull City.

It could have been worse for Rafael Benitez's side who trailed 2-0 after 22 minutes, the second Hull goal being a Jamie Carragher own goal, before Gerrard wiped out the deficit.

Liverpool, who have drawn four times in the league at Anfield, will be demoted from top spot if Chelsea beat West Ham United tomorrow.

Aston Villa moved into the top four above Arsenal after a 4-2 victory against Bolton Wanderers. Arsenal were held 1-1 by Middlesbrough.

Sunderland moved out of the bottom three with a 4-0 romp against bottom club West Bromwich Albion while Manchester City were sunk by a late Everton goal in a 1-0 defeat.

Champions Manchester United were looking to move to within four points of Liverpool with victory in a later match at Tottenham Hotspur.
