Germany will walk a disciplinary tightrope as they attempt to dump Argentina out of the World Cup and reach the semi-finals.

Joachim Low's side will head into Saturday's clash with the South Americans in Cape Town with no fewer than seven men on bookings with yellow cards only due to be wiped out after the quarter-finals.

Skipper Philipp Lahm, fellow defender Arne Friedrich, midfielders Bastian Schweinsteiger, Sami Khedira, Thomas Muller and Mesut Ozil and striker Cacau, if he recovers from the abdominal muscle injury which kept him out of the 4-1 win over England in the last 16, will all face a tense 90 minutes against Diego Maradona's men.

Striker Miroslav Klose has already served a suspension after being sent off for two bookable offences during the first half of the 1-0 Group D defeat by Serbia.

Argentina will have only Gabriel Heinze, Javier Mascherano and Mario Bolatti in the same situation with Jonas Gutierrez having already missed a game after picking up cautions in each of the first two group matches.
