A German is being kept in remand after he was accused before the Gozo court of having stolen €20 from the collection box of St George's parish church in Victoria.

40-year-old Stefan Lufze, who lives in Xlendi,  was accused of having tried to commit theft from the collection box of St George parish church in Gozo yesterday and of having stolen €20 from the same church earlier this month during the period of a conditional discharge.

Stefan Lufze pleaded guilty. He was denied bail pending a pre-sentencing report.
