Foreign Minister George Vella left Malta yesterday for an official visit to China where he will be having talks with his counterpart, Wang Yi.

Apart from relations between the two countries, the two ministers will also be discussing the international political situation in the respective regions and cooperation in the international arena and multilateral organisations such as the United Nations and the World Trade Organisation.

Dr Vella will be giving a keynote speech at the China Institute of International Strategic Studies on Malta as an island of stability in the turbulent waters of the Mediterranean.
