GB Airways has been named runner-up in the Sussex MegaGrowth 25 Awards for this year.
Jointly sponsored by accountants KPMG and Lloyds TSB Corporate, the MegaGrowth awards honour the fastest growing companies in Sussex in the three years from 2001/02 to 2004/05.
Sales for GB Airways grew significantly by £46 million (32 per cent) during the period under review. This rise of sales from £142 million to £188 million over these three years also saw the company's profits grow to £6.3 million.
MegaGrowth 25 Awards were launched by KPMG and Lloyds TSB Corporate to highlight the county's finest business talent. Based on returns to Companies House over a specified three-year period, about 50,000 privately-owned companies in Sussex are then ranked by growth in turnover.
GB Airways, franchise partner of British Airways, operates direct flights between Malta and London.
