An arts festival in London is calling for submissions from lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) and queer artists.

The GFest - Gaywise Festival is a platform for LGBT and queer artists, organisations and venues to promote LGBT and queer arts.

Artists can now submit their work in three categories: visual art, short films and performance.

The visual arts strand includes 2-D and 3-D work, paintings, prints, photography and sculpture and the performance category covers music, comedy, cabaret, burlesque, spoken word, theatre, dance and physical theatre. Organised by arts charity Wise Thoughts, GFest aims to showcase the work of established artists alongside fresh or young talent across the arts.

The festival, which will take place from November 8 to 21 at venues across London, will feature visual arts, theatre, dance and performance, LGBT short films, debates, workshops and parties.

Last year's GFest '09 included work from more than 100 LGBT and queer artists, practitioners and filmmakers and took place across eight venues.
