Liquigas Malta is distributing leaflets to households to raise awareness about safety issues when using LPG cylinders.

The company said there were various dos and don’ts to minimise possible risks when using the cylinders.

“LPG is a convenient and remarkably safe fuel for domestic use, be it cooking or heating. We believe, however, that educating consumers is not only important but essential as safety must be everyone’s concern. When dealing with LPG, it is important that the proper and safe handling of gas cylinders is fully understood and correctly applied,” Liquigas Malta CEO Roberto Capelluto said.

It was imperative for people to turn off the gas, open all doors and windows and refrain from putting on any electrical equipment in case of a gas leakage.

In the event of a leakage call emergency services on 112 or Liquigas on 2165 1661/2/3/4/5.
