Two garnishee orders have been issued by a court against Media.link Communications, the media arm of the Nationalist Party.

The first was issued at the request of the Malta Communications Authority, which is requesting payment of €13,400 in respect of administrative services to ping, the Media.link's mobile phone subsidiary. The amount includes interest.

The MCA said some of the payments became due in 2011. It said that in January is sent an official letter to the PN requesting payment. Another letter was sent in February.

APS Bank in a letter to the Court Registrar said it had frozen Media.link funds, however the amount was insufficient to even cover the expenses involved and it therefore could not proceed with the deposit of the funds in court. The APS letter is the only one from a bank included in the court documents.

In a second garnishee order, Integrated Electronics said it was requesting payment of €376 for supplies.

A spokesman for the PN said the garnishee order regarding the MCA is expected to be lifted on Thursday after agreement reached between the two parties.
