A number of Group Four security personnel at MIA went out on strike today in solidarity with 28 workers who have been sacked.

Informed sources said the strikers normally work on passenger screening. However airport operations have not been affected since screening is being done by certified MIA personnel.

The sources said the G4S personnel were dismissed because of a decline in work after the summer high. They were offered alternative employment in other places but refused.
