Dance, art and crafts, stage makeup and repertoire workshops will be held by the Dance Council starting from Saturday.

The workshops will introduce tap, hip hop and Spanish dance.

They are open for children who do not normally attend dance classes and wish to exper-ience the fun of dance for the first time.

During the workshops the students will learn about the history of the discipline and will watch a short video of the piece to be studied. They will be taught dance steps and will then take part in a performance.

Prizes will be awarded to an outstanding and promising student from each group.

Participation certificates are awarded at the end of the year, with a small performance opened to parents to watch their children and see the exhibits of their arts, crafts and projects.

The workshops are a fun time for the students to learn different techniques of dance.

Child membership is €7; each session is €5 for members and €10 for non-members.

The workshop will be held at the Central Academy, Birkirkara from 4 to 6 p.m. Children from the age of eight years are invited to join.
