We constantly read about road traffic “accidents”, which in the same report are then also referred to as “incidents”, in which a head-on collision/crash occurs, courtesy of the driver “losing control of the vehicle”.

Then we have those involved, aged, say, 23 and 28, referred to as “youths”.

Could anyone explain to me the age at which a person stops being a youth and why/how do crash and head-on collisions occur and also why/how one loses control of a vehicle? Also, how/why do accidents (or are they incidents) happen at the workplace, particularly at construction sites?

Should such reports of accidents/incidents not contain more information and clarification? If such are not immediately available there can be a be a follow-up report. Is it correct that the people should be informed of such occurrences but are not told about what actually caused them?

Culpability should be apportioned when justified with those involved in any wrongdoing should be named and shamed.
