I would like to draw the attention of readers about the poor customer service offered by Melita Cable as regards telephony.

I've been calling technical support on 2727 2727 for the past 15 days and I've still not received a plausible reply. I even sent two e-mails, which were not even acknowledged.

The problem is that I am trying to call a mobile number that recently switched from one company to another from my Hello landline. Whenever I dial the number, I hear a recorded voice saying that this number does not exist. But this number more than exists. In fact, I called from the mobile to the landline and did get through!

When I first called Melita Cable on a Friday, after trying to get through for an hour, the representative told me that he will see to the problem and will get back to me. I thought it would take a few minutes since the representative didn't tell me that the technicians were not available or that they do not work over weekends.

Saturday morning I called again and after 14 minutes managed to get through. First of all I complained about the disservice and I was completely ignored.

Funnily enough, the representative told me that maybe the technical persons who do not work during weekends might be doing some work from home! As if someone on leave works from home.

On Wednesday, after 10 minutes I managed to get through again. The representative seemed concerned and he told me to hold the line, only to be kept on the line for a further 10 minutes and then the line went dead! When I managed to get through, the representative promised again a swift solution since the technicians were there.

Monday I called again and this time I got through rather soon. However, still no solution in sight.

Friday I called again and the representative said that the technicians were still working on my problem! When I asked to speak to someone in authority he said that there was nobody and, thus, I told him that I will write in the papers and he passed me on to the receptionist.

In the meantime, I still cannot call on this mobile number, which, incidentally, normally I call some three times a day. Unbelievable but true. Malta Communications Authority please note. This is really shameful!
