A total of 120 fresh chickens which were not kept under the right temperatures have been seized by the Health Inspectorate Services within the Department for Environmental Health.

The chickens, which were seized from a food hawker in Zabbar, were also irregularly labeled.

The department said in a statement it would be taking legal action against the offenders and investigations to trace the source of the chickens were continuing.

It urged the public to only purchase products kept under hygienic conditions and originating from reliable sources.
