A blog post claiming that the Prime Minister’s chief of staff Keith Schembri received $430,000 in “unexplained funds” in January 2015 made it into parliament on Tuesday evening.

Opposition leader Adrian Delia tabled the post, which was published by Manuel Delia on his blog earlier on Tuesday, and asked the Prime Minister and Finance Minister for their reaction to the claims.

In his blog post, Mr Delia claimed to have seen documents which showed that Mr Schembri received the six-figure sum from “unexplained sources” five weeks after a trip he made to Azerbaijan capital Baku.

Replying to the Opposition leader, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said that his chief of staff had “categorically” denied the allegations.
