The French aerobatics team Patrouille de France will be taking part in this month's Malta International Air Show.

The airshow will be held on September 25th and 26th.

Now in its 18th consecutive year, the Malta airshow will feature participation from Malta, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, The United Kingdom and the United States.

The show be held on two aircraft parks very near to the familiar Park 4. The road leading to the airshow gate will remain the same Hal Farrug Road.

"The new set-up inevitably presented a few organisational challenges but with the sterling cooperation of Malta International Airport plc and the support of OMAS (Office of the Manager Airport Security) and the Armed Forces of Malta, all is now set for yet another thrilling edition of the Malta International Airshow" said Joe Ciliberti President of the Malta Aviation Society.

Aircraft expected to participate at the show come in all sizes, including a giant KDC-10 air-to-air refuelling jet from the Royal Netherlands Air Force, a maritime patrol aircraft P-3 Orion from the United States Navy, the familiar CL-415 fire-fighting machine from Italy as well as basic training aircraft.

This year being the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain, the Royal Air Force is sending a trio of Tucano advanced training aircraft sporting Second World War colours. One of the aircraft will also perform in the flying display programme on both Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

Airshow gates open at 10am and close at 5.30pm on both days. The static display will start at 10am and the flying display at the airport over the shorter runway will commence at 2.15pm . Entry tickets are at €10 and children under 14 years enter free of charge. Prepaid tickets at €8 are available from MIA's Information Desks as well as all Mc Donalds outlets in Malta. A direct bus-shuttle service will operate from Valletta City Gate to the airshow gate and vice-versa and the public is encouraged to use this service.
