The Government will be providing free medicines for people suffering from Multiple Sclerosis, ADHD, ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) and Fibromyalgia, Finance Minister Edward Scicluna said in the Budget speech this evening.

He said a report by John Dalli on the state of Mater Dei Hospital would be published and discussed in a national conference.

Furthermore, the government would henceforth pay for the travelling expenses of both parents when their children need medical treatment abroad. So far assistance is only given to one parent.

Health centres will have their opening hours extended, starting from the one in Birkirkara.

A White Paper will also be issued on the running of the Pharmacy of Your Choice Scheme

In Gozo, a chemotherapy service will be introduced next year.
