Free Gifts is a voluntary work campaign organised at the University by the KPS-Chaplaincy Voluntary Sub-Committee. This campaign encourages all University students to give of their free time, energy and talents to others who need attention and care.

There are some 15 projects, including six dealing with children, including St Joseph Home, Third World Group and Merhba Bik; a project with Caritas to work with young people; two projects to work in refugee related projects; two projects to work with persons with disability and one project with the elderly. There are also three projects inviting students to work in the environment and with animals. Last year about 180 students chose to take part in this initiative.

This year, the Free Gifts campaign is being launched again, having an introductory meeting on Tuesday, October 24, at 6 p.m. at Dar Manwel Magri. Any University student who is interested can obtain more information either by e-mail: chaplaincy@um. edu.mt or by calling Christine Rossi or Fr Jimmy Bartolo on 2340-2341.
