At the start of the academic year, Vodafone was offering special packs to University students. Along with these packs the company was offering condoms for free to students.

As the university is not only attended by lay people but also by religious and students studying to become priests and others with true morals, it would be interesting to know, if such statistics are kept, how many of these students accepted the "special offer" condom packs.

I cannot imagine members of religious communities or student priests opting for this offer, which is highly insulting and offensive to those students who have good morals and religious convictions.

The company may offer such packs wherever they like but not on campus. The University Council should have immediately stopped this offer.

If no decision is taken in this regard, our university ought to be called a "University of Sex".
