France full-back Clement Poitrenaud will miss the remainder of the Six Nations tournament after sustaining an ankle injury on Saturday.

Poitrenaud was grimacing with pain when he was carried off on a stretcher after twisting his left ankle 23 minutes into Toulouse's 41-15 victory over Perpignan in the French championship.

The player was undergoing surgery and would be out of action for at least three and a half months, Toulouse coach Guy Noves said yesterday.

Clermont's Anthony Floch will replace Poitrenaud in France's 22-man squad to play England in their next Six Nations match next Saturday at the Stade de France, the club said on its website.
