The serial thief who yesterday admitted to stealing from 44 rooms in six hotels over a period of three months was this morning jailed for four years.

Mark Anthony Bennett, 21, yesterday pleaded guilty to a plethora of thefts from hotels in Buġibba, St Paul's Bay and Qawra.

His friend, unemployed chef Todd Robert Henderson-Drake, another Briton, who lives in Attard, this morning also admitted to taking part in four of the thefts and was jailed two years suspended for four.

Police Inspector Keith Arnaud told magistrate Antonio Mizzi that Mr Henderson-Drake would stay by the lift making sure nobody came while the thefts were being committed.
