Four prisoners at Corradino have been granted parole but 17 had their requests turned down, Home Affairs Minister Manuel Mallia said on Dissett this evening.

More applications are being considered.

The minister said that while the former government had enacted parole legislation, it had not set up the supporting mechanisms around the Parole Assessment Board.
