A 37-year-old man was yesterday remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to resisting and attacking four police officers in Floriana on Saturday.

Anthony Borg, from St Paul’s Bay, was also accused of driving a car with foreign number plates under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He refused to take a breathalyser test at the Valletta police station.

The prosecution, led by Inspector Sergio Pisani presented CCTV footage of the incident on St Anne Street, which took place at around 8am.

Mr Borg pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Ian Farrugia and said the incident happened in the heat of the moment.
