A man and a woman were charged in court with drug trafficking on Saturday, two days after a police raid.

Four people were arrested on Thursday after they were found with substantial volumes of cocaine and heroin distributed in packets. They are being retained at Corradino Correctional facility pending sentencing.

A 38-year-old Maltese woman and a 45-year-old British national, both residing in Luqa, were arraigned in front of duty magistrate Aaron Bugeja and charged with drug trafficking.

Two other Maltese nationals, aged 27 and 30 from Cospicua, are expected to be arraigned and charged with drug possession. 

Police are still investigating.
