The police said today that they had arrested four people after two drug finds in Hamrun over the past few days.

The first find was made on Sunday afternoon near St Paul Square. Two persons were arrested as a quantity of heroin was about to change hands. The arrested men, already previously known to the police, are residents of Valletta and Rabat and aged 40 and 36 respectively.

The second drug find was made yesterday at Triq Atocia during a raid following a tip-off about trafficking from an apartment.

The police kept the place under surveillance and after confirming the information, arrested the trafficker, a 27-year-old man who lives in the apartment.

He was found to be in possession of heroin.

A 25-year-old man from Hamrun was arrested in connection with the same case.

Investigations are continuing.
