The Forum Unions Maltin complained this morning that it was being discriminated against by the new Government in financial terms and by not being allowed to contribute on various Government boards.

It requested an urgent meeting with the Office of the Prime Minister to clarify its position.

In a statement, FORUM said it was clear that under the new Government, it was left unrepresented on important Government entities, such as the Employers Relations Board, the Occupational Health and Safety Board and the Gozo Regional Committee.

Such boards fell under the direct responsibility of the Government.

It noted that it was never in receipt of any financial assistance like other union and employer bodies and this discriminatory treatment was persisting under the new administration.

FORUM said it expected the Government to take appropriate action to remedy the discrimination against once and for all and ensure that the representative voice of thousands of workers was given its due importance and recognition.
