The NCW annual Christmas party will be held tomorrow at 8 p.m. at the Victoria Hotel, Sliema. Mezzo-soprano Phyllis Bajada Abram and pianist Corinne Briffa will give a Christmas concert during the party. Price: Lm5.75. Members and friends are invited.
Thinking Skills course
The NCW is holding a course in Thinking Skills between January 12 and February 16. The course is made up of six two-hour sessions, which will be held on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon at the NCW premises.
The course aims to help participants develop creative and critical thinking techniques that are essential in meeting the challenges of living in a technologically oriented, multicultural world.
At home, these skills will help participants deal with everyday activities, like helping their children in school work, looking after the household and making better decisions.
Ph.D. in Gender and Women's Studies
The Marie Curie Fellowship for Early Stage Training in the field of Gender and Women's Studies allows early stage researchers access to a training programme offered by a network of seven universities in different European countries.
The partner institutions, with proven record of high expertise in gender research and education, will jointly train and exchange junior Ph.D. students.
Annual general meeting
The NCW's AGM will be held on Saturday, January 28, at The Victoria Hotel, Sliema. Welcome coffee is at 9 a.m., ending with lunch at 1.30 p.m.

Foundation Day celebration luncheon
The popular Foundation Day celebration luncheon for members and friends is being held on Thursday, February 16. More details will be announced later.
