International Women's Day is being celebrated with a number of activities linked to NCW's celebrations of the 40th anniversary of its foundation. The first event will take place on Tuesday at 2.30 p.m., with the launch of an information leaflet for women, prepared by the EU Affairs Committee of NCW and which will be presented to Parliamentary Secretary Dolores Cristina. The leaflets will be distributed to all members, affiliated organisations, local councils, women employees and other interested groups.

¤ An NCW delegation will be meeting the Commissioner of Police and other members of the corps for an exchange of views and to discuss ways of working together for a more equality-friendly society.

¤ On Friday at 6 p.m., NCW will be holding its traditional Mass at Our Lady of Victory church, Valletta, followed by a meal.

¤ To mark International Women's Day, NCW Executive Committee members will be paying a courtesy call on the Prime Minister to present him with a report of the Council's initiatives during the past two years. The Committee will also be paying a courtesy call on the Leader of the Opposition.
