Victor Delicata, former Superior-General of the Society of Christian Doctrine, MUSEUM, has passed away.  He was 85 years old.

A director of J. Delicata & Sons, Mr Delicata was electedS uperior-General in June 1983 having previously served as  superior of the Balzan branch of the society and assistant to his predecessor Cikku Saliba.

He opened MUSEUM branches in San Gwann, Mellieha, Burmarrad, the Birkirkara Oratory, St Andrews, Pembroke and Mgarr and was involved in the opening of branches in Sudan, the UK, Kenya, Albania and Peru.

The highlight of his term was the canonisation of Dun Gorg Preca in 2007.

Mr Delicata resigned after a quarter century at the helm of the MUSEUM society in 2009. He was succeeded by Natalino Camilleri.
