Former Modern Talking front man for Ghaxaq concert

Thomas Anders, the original lead singer of popular German pop duo Modern Talking, will perform live at the Ghaxaq Football Ground on May 25 at 8 p.m.

The concert is being organised by St Joseph Band Club and Spektra Promotions.

Entrance is free but donations in aid of id-Dar tal-Providenza will be collected at the door.

Club president Marvic Abela said the aim was to elevate this year’s concert to a national event.

With the help of Wilfred Spiteri of Spektra Promotions, the club decided to invite a foreign artist who has enjoyed success in his own right during his career.

“We have moved beyond the idea of hosting tribute bands… After the huge response for last year's Winter Moods concert, it will be difficult to attract the same crowd but we are doing everything to improve our events."

Thomas Anders and his band will play all their greatest hits of the 80s, including  You’re my heart, you’re my soul, Atlantis is calling, Brother Loui, You can win if you want, and also other famous songs such as Ready for the victory, Take the chance and Win the race.
