Former Inter sporting director Marco Branca is getting back through a Malta-based game-fund, which hunts for young football talent, according to reports.

Branca will be key manager at World Football Strategies, which will start operating in the coming days.

According to Milano Finanza, World Football Strategies will follow the paths of other similar ventures such as Gestifute, ran by Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes and Malta-based organisation Doyen Group, which was lately under scrutiny following the Football Leaks scandal.

World Football Strategies was created by Massimiliano Barbiani, former financial promoter, who is eager to introduce himself in the business side of football.

The aim of the organisation will be to manage the sporting and financial aspect of youth players between the age of 16 and 19 who are on the books of European clubs, both at youth and senior level.

The project, which will be entrusted to a management company, is looking to raise €20 million from institutional investors which will enable the fund to be quoted in the Maltese stock exchange. One of the investors will be Mediterranean Hedge Fund, based in Ireland, that are looking to invest €5 million on a pluriannual rate.

The World Football Strategies' business plan also includes the idea of taking over a club in Europe, with their eyes being shifted on Portugal, Switzerland and Bulgaria.

Branca was in the role of sporting director at Inter between 2003 and 2014, during which the Nerazzuri won 15 titles including the treble in 2010.
