Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg said yesterday that, like other sectors, the property market would benefit from the financial and economic expansion as a result of investment coming Malta's way.

Speaking during a consultation meeting with the Federation of Estate Agents, which is one of the bodies within the Chamber of Commerce and Small Enterprise, Dr Borg pledged that the process of consultation which characterised the government throughout the last legislature would continue when the government, once re-elected, draws up policies for the coming years.

Federation president Trafford Busuttil expressed satisfaction at the fact that the government was working on development projects for Grand Harbour, Marsamxett and the Strand in Sliema. SmartCity and the government's Smart Island vision were projects that helped the property industry to continue to expand, Mr Busuttil said.
