• The 2009 Annual General Meeting of The Malta Geographical Society will be held at The British Legion Hall, 111 Melita Street, Valletta, on Thursday at 6.30 p.m. The meeting will be followed with a talk by Vincent Zammit at 7.30 p.m. He will be speaking on the 'Coastal Fortifications of Malta'. • A series of short retreats led by Fr Alfred Micallef, SJ and Fr Pierre Grech Marguerat, SJ, are being held by the Centre of Ignatian Spirituality at Mt St Joseph Retreat House, Tarġa Gap, Mosta, on Saturday, March 7, 14 and 28, and April 4, between 4 and 8 p.m., as preparation for Easter. • Enthusiasts of Maltese history are invited to visit the Żabbar Sanctuary Museum on Sunday, which is Ħadd in-Nies, traditionally held on the first Sunday of Lent. This year, the museum is commemorating its 55th anniversary and museum guides will conduct tours at 9.30 and 10.30 am. Entrance is free.
