• The Moviment Madonna tal-Konsagrazzjoni committee is organising a Mass in memory of movement founder Ġuża Mifsud on Tuesday at 6.30 p.m. at Siġġiewi parish church. Everyone is invited to attend.

• The Language Department at St Edwards College, headed by Dominique Inglott, is organising Food Week. The students will be preparing food on Tuesday and Wednesday. The objective is to show that food preparation can be fun, healthy and tasty.

The junior, middle and senior sections will be given a concept to work on, and competitions will be held on different days. The junior school will prepare healthy breakfasts, followed by a talk by nutritionist Caroline Scerri.

Children from middle school will create their own sandwich given a few ingredients. Senior school students will be asked to prepare a dish from home. Students, teachers and personalities will judge the participants.

• The Cine Forum Group is paying a special tribute to Paul Newman by screening The Mackintosh Man on Friday at 8 p.m. at the German-Maltese Circle, Messina Palace, 141 St Christopher Street, Valletta. Tickets are available at the door. For more information, call 9905 2482.

• The next meeting of the San Ġorġ Preca Group will be held on Friday at 6.30 p.m. at the MUSEUM headquarters, Blata l-Bajda (entrance next to Preca Library). Young couples and adults are especially welcome.

• The Scout Association of Malta is holding an event on Sunday at Ta' Qali. The day starts with Mass at 10 a.m., followed by lunch at 11.30 and afternoon activities, including food stalls, scouting crafts, climbing wall, games, face painting and scout bands.

Groups are urged to liaise with the respective district commissioner. All Venture Units and Rover Crews are encouraged to bring their abseiling equipment to help climb the wall.

The association is also holding a centenary commemorative reception at the Crescent Suite of the SAS Radisson Golden Sands Hotel, Għajn Tuffieħa (entrance through hotel foyer) on November 8 at 7.30 p.m.

• A bazaar is being held at St Helen parish centre, Birkirkara (behind the basilica) from November 4 to 12, between 9 a.m. and noon and from 4.30 to 7 p.m. (Sunday, mornings only).

Among the items for sale there will be homegrown pot plants, furniture, antiques and bric-a-brac.

• A card party in aid of the Little Sisters of the Poor will be held on November 5 from 10 a.m. at the Preluna Hotel, Sliema. For bookings phone Blanche Martin on 2133 0387.

• A bazaar in aid of Sunrise Centre (Centru Tbexbix), of 6 Lazarus Street, Cospicua, will be held on November 8 and 9. There will be household goods, books, clothes, plants, Christmas items and many other things for sale.

• Sunrise Centre is also organising its next vegetarian dinner on November 22. Early booking is recommended. Proceeds will be used to purchase shelving for the upstairs classrooms, a new carpet for the yoga room and a small PA system for budding performers.
