Local rock band Footprints is launching its new album, 777, and a music video directed by Rene Rossignaud for the lead single The Long Lined Road, on Friday at 8.30 p.m.

The event is being held at the Millennium Chapel auditorium in Paceville.

The album features a collection of eight original songs by the Christian rock band whose releases include Red Lines and the pro-life anthem The Gift of Life.

Some of the songs on the album have been part of the band’s live repertoire for some years now, and the band felt it appropriate to celebrate its 10th anniversary by recording studio versions of the songs that have been integral to the band’s journey over the years.

Some songs, among them, Oh Lord, Listen and My Saviour are inspired by the Book of Psalms and other excerpts from the Holy Scripture, while The Long Lined Road has a metaphorical slant, and Abba Father and Here Before You are classic Christian Rock worship songs.

The title of the album is inspired by the number seven, which was believed to be ‘the perfect number’ in the time of Christ.

The number 777 is an allusion to perfection and infinity, both essential to the album’s theme which, above all, bears witness to the band’s musical and spiritual journey, with a focus on God’s infinite love for humanity.

Entrance to the album launch is free, but it is recommended to send an e-mail to footprints forchrist@gmail.com to reserve a seat.
