Police are investigating after Twitter trolls made sexual threats against the one-year-old daughter of England striker Jamie Vardy.

The graphic abuse came after the Leicester player’s fiancee posted pictures of the toddler wearing a Foxes shirt ahead of their match against Southampton on Sunday.

Police has launched an investigation into the shocking threats after a formal complaint was made on Monday.

Rebekah Nicholson tweeted the shots of her daughter wearing the blue T-shirt with ‘Daddy’ emblazoned on the back, which prompted rape threats on the social networking site.

Cafu advice

Former Brazil defender Cafu says it is only a matter of time before compatriot Neymar becomes the best player in the world – and believes staying at Barca remains in the player’s best interests.

This week, the 24-year-old’s agent Wagner Ribeiro linked the Barca striker with a move to PSG when he completes his deal.

Ribeiro said: “He feels good in Barcelona... but the prospect of playing for a club like PSG – that’s also a dream for every player.”

But Cafu said: “I hope he can continue at Barcelona.

“Barcelona is a team that supports him, it’s a team that provides him with structure to help him continue to shine.”

Toure will leave City in June – agent

Manchester City’s midfield powerhouse Yaya Toure will leave the club at the end of the season having not been offered a new contract, his agent said.

The 32-year-old Ivory Coast international joined City from Barcelona for £24m in 2010.

Six years ago Toure was sold by Pep Guardiola, who will replace Manuel Pellegrini as City’s coach when the Spaniard leaves Bayern Munich this summer.

“We have waited too long. Manchester City promised a deal but nothing has materialised so Yaya will leave in June,” his agent Dimitri Seluk said.

Lawsuit threat to CONMEBOL HQ

The South American Football Confederation could be forced to leave Paraguay due to a $10m lawsuit relating to the land where its headquarters stand, CONMEBOL’s president said.

The suit pertains to the title deed for the land in Luque, said Alejandro Dominguez.

“We asked for more information to see if our deed is or isn’t legitimate and the answer I got was that it is totally legitimate,” Dominguez said.

“But unfortunately this is something that threatens CONMEBOL’s presence in Paraguay.”

The confederation was also facing nine other suits, many from former employees, Domin-guez added.

Powell joins PFA coaching team

Former England manager Hope Powell is joining the Professional Football Association’s coaching department as its first female coach educator.

Powell, the first woman to obtain the UEFA Pro Licence, coached the England women’s team between 1998 and 2013.

She will work with both male and female PFA members within the professional game in the south east, helping them become better equipped to be managers and coaches in the future.

Powell, who was capped 66 times as a player, said: “I am extremely pleased to be joining the PFA within the coaching department and keen to help develop the next generation of coaches in this country.”

Away fans banned from SPaulo derbies

Sao Paulo police have banned away fans from attending city derbies until the end of the year after a bystander was shot dead on Sunday as Palmeiras and Corinthians fans battled ahead of their state championship game.

The decision was taken by the state’s military police in conjunction with the Paulista State Football Federation and public prosecutors.

Although they did not specify which clubs would be hit by the move, it is likely to apply to the state’s big four – Corinthians, Palmeiras, Santos and Sao Paulo.

Authorities also announced they would ban home fans groups from taking banners and drums into stadiums in the state.

AEK and Atromitos pick up penalties

Greek Super League clubs AEK Athens and Atromitos Athinon have been deducted three points and ordered to play two matches behind closed doors as punishment for crowd trouble.

One fan was stabbed, though not severely injured, as supporters from both sides clashed with each other and riot police after the final whistle of their February 7 Super League encounter which Atromitos won 1-0.

AEK have also been fined €118,750, which includes minor incidents carried over from other matches, while Atromitos must pay €71,750 as part of the punishments handed out by the league’s disciplinary committee.
