Inter president Massimo Moratti has no doubt Jose Mourinho will remain at the San Siro next season despite reports linking the Portuguese coach with a move to Real Madrid.

According to Spanish media, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is keen to lure Mourinho to the Bernabeu to replace Manuel Pellegrini this summer.

"Mourinho has a contract with Inter," Moratti said.

"But besides this, I am certain that he will happily remain."

Mourinho is under contract with the Nerazzurri until June 2011.

"The newspapers talk about Mourinho as a character," said Moratti.

"But they forget that, above all, he is a great professional."

Hamsik named player of the year

Marek Hamsik's role in captaining Slovakia to their first ever World Cup finals this year in South Africa won him the 2009 player of the year award this week.

The 22-year-old midfielder - who plays for Serie A highflyers Napoli - edged out Bochum striker Stanislav Sestak and Legia Warsaw goalkeeper Jan Mucha in the poll.

Slovakian national coach Vladimir Weiss was named coach of the year.

Hyundai, Kia extend UEFA sponsorship

Hyundai Motor Co and affiliate Kia Motors Corp have agreed to extend their sponsorship of UEFA competitions until 2017.

UEFA president Michel Platini signed the deal with company officials yesterday. Financial details were not disclosed.

The agreement spans the 2012 and 2016 European Championships and Hyundai will enjoy main sponsorship rights for "all UEFA Euro events, including the rights to use logos, emblems as well as signage display in the stadiums."

Hyundai have sponsored the European Championships since 2000.

Spain promised hefty bonus

The 23 members of Spain's national team will each get a bonus of €550,000 if their side wins the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, daily El Mundo reported.

The bonus, which is more than double the €250,000 that each member of the Spain squad which won the Euro 2008 collected, will be discussed over the coming days between the players and Spain's football federation, it said.

The England squad has been promised a bonus of €450,000 each if they win the June 11-July 11 tournament while the figure of €300,000 has been mentioned for Brazil according to El Mundo.

But the bonus promised the Spain squad pales in comparison to the €950,000 which Real Madrid players will receive if they win both the Spanish league and the Champions League this year.

Deco wants move to Brazil

Chelsea midfielder Deco has revealed he hopes to leave the club this summer and return to his native Brazil.

Deco, who represented Portugal after moving to the country and gaining citizenship, joined Chelsea from Barcelona in 2008, on a three-year contract.

He has not been a first-choice member of Carlo Ancelotti's starting XI this season, starting just 10 Premier League games.

He said: "I want to go back to Brazil. I still have a couple of good years of high-level football in me but I want to be near my kids."

Deco developed his career in Europe after struggling to make the grade as a teenager in Brazil, and starred for both Porto and Barcelona before moving to Stamford Bridge.

Refs favour Gers, McNeill claims

Referees in Scotland have unfairly favoured Rangers over Old Firm rivals Celtic for the last 50 years, according to Parkhead legend Billy McNeill.

Sunday's derby added fuel to the fire when Celtic skipper Scott Brown was sent off in the 1-0 defeat following a tussle with Rangers midfielder Kyle Lafferty, who escaped unpunished.

McNeill, who skippered Celtic to their European Cup win in 1967 and who later had two spells as manager, said: "Celtic have been suffering referee injustices against Rangers for 50 years.

"The big decisions have always gone against my club and in favour of Rangers. Nothing has changed. I felt that way as a player, during two spells as manager and now as a spectator."

Warnock takes charge at QPR

Veteran manager Neil Warnock became the latest man to be given the job of guiding the fortunes of English side Queens Park Rangers when he was appointed as their manager.

The 61-year-old Englishman has moved across London from Rangers' Championship rivals Crystal Palace, after they agreed a compensation package, and has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with the Loftus Road club.

Warnock, who in 2006 led Sheffield United to promotion to the lucrative Premier League, now hopes to do the same for QPR, who last played in English football's top flight in 1996.
