Angry QPR fans turned on Flavio Briatore after the 1-0 defeat against Scunthorpe. Briatore was barracked by sections of the home crowd as Rangers slumped to their fourth defeat in six matches.

Several hundred supporters gathered outside after the final whistle to demonstrate against the Italian, who was at the match along with co-owner Bernie Ecclestone.

Garry Thompson's goal gave Scunthorpe their first ever victory at Loftus Road, and fuelled the growing anger among home fans.

A number of them attended the game wearing clown-style wigs and red noses in protest at the events at the club, which has been plagued by problems on and off the pitch since the Briatore-led takeover of 2007.

Capello vows to stay until 2012

Fabio Capello has vowed to remain coach of England until Euro 2012 even though he and his FA bosses can mutually cancel his contract after the World Cup in June.

The 63-year-old Italian, who steered England to nine wins from 10 qualifying matches, told reporters ahead of next Sunday's Euro 2012 draw in Warsaw he hoped to stay for that tournament too.

"I hope to still be here in 2012. It depends on the FA and results at the World Cup of course but I am really happy," said Capello.

"I don't think about not being the England manager. Being here makes me happy. I like living in London and so does my wife."

Moses to make Premier move

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock revealed teenage forward Victor Moses is on his way to the Premier League for £2.5m.

Championship sides Newcastle, West Brom and N. Forest had tabled bids for the 19-year-old but they have been pipped by a top-flight side, with Wigan rumoured to have won the race for his signature.

The money will provide a lifeline for Palace after they plunged into administration last week.

"I think it's done. Victor is going to the Premier League and I think £2.5m is a snip for one of the best young players we've got," confirmed Warnock.

Zola desperate for McCarthy

West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola hopes South African forward Benni McCarthy will provide a major boost to his struggling side's bid to avoid relegation.

Zola's team drew a blank in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Blackburn and remain too close to the bottom three for comfort. With new co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold willing to back Zola in the transfer market, the Italian has lined up a £2.5m move for McCarthy, out of favour at Blackburn.

"It looks like it is done and he should be coming to train with us," Zola said.

"I do not know the terms yet, but they have told me the deal is done. He should be available for the next game."

Ancelotti praises skipper Terry

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti said it never crossed his mind to leave his skipper John Terry out of the team to play Burnley on Saturday despite newspapers publishing revelations about his private life.

Terry, booed every time he touched the ball by the home fans during Saturday's Premier League match, forgot his troubles to head the winner eight minutes from time in a 2-1 victory.

Asked after the match if he had any thoughts about leaving Terry out of the side because of the publicity, Ancelotti told reporters: "No, never, never".

"It was a good moment for Terry on the pitch. I did not speak with him. I do not want to talk about his personal life. He is doing his job very well, every day, every training session. For this I am not worried."

Robinho makes surprise Santos visit

Brazilian forward Robinho visited his new Santos team-mates before their 2-0 win over Oeste that took them top of the Paulista championship. Robinho arrived in Brazil last weekend to begin a six-month loan spell with Santos from Manchester City.

"Amid a climate of much happiness and relaxation, the star Robinho made a surprise visit to the King Pele Training Centre," Santos said.

Robinho's official presentation at the club where he started his career, and with whom he won the Brazilian championship in 2002 and 2004, will be today.

Fiorentina miss out on Cassano

Fiorentina failed in a bid to sign Antonio Cassano on loan from Sampdoria yesterday but were on the verge of landing Brazilian Keirrison from Barcelona.

The Florence club were scrambling to sign a forward before the transfer window closes today after Adrian Mutu was given a provisional ban by anti-doping authorities on Friday for twice testing positive for an appetite suppressant.

"I am staying at Sampdoria. I'm staying even if I can't deny that for some moments I saw myself leaving," Cassano said.

Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino said he had tried many clubs to find a quick replacement for Mutu, including a failed bid for Villarreal's Giuseppe Rossi.
