Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrah-imovic paid tribute to his team-mates for their part in his record-breaking start to life in Spain.

Ibrahimovic shrugged off an ankle problem to climb off the bench and net Barca's opener in their 2-0 win at Malaga, taking his tally to five goals in five league matches since joining the Catalan giants this summer.

No new Barca signing had previously scored in each of their opening four league matches, let alone five.

"I try to score goals and help my team-mates. Without them I can't do anything. The goal has come from a great pass from (Lionel) Messi," Ibrahimovic said.

Rummenigge tells Gomez to keep quiet

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has told striker Mario Gomez to let actions speak louder than words after criticising the player's recent dissidence.

Gomez has complained about his lack of action in recent games. But Rummenigge told the Welt am Sonntag newspaper that he would prefer Gomez to keep his mouth shut and turn his frustration into positive energy on the field.

"I spoke with his agent a few days ago and told him to advise Mario to stop immediately with his complaining or misjudging things in any way," said Rummenigge.

Nakamura OK for Japan schedule jam

Espanyol midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura wants to play three Japan games inside a week next month despite being a poor long-distance flier.

Japanese media reported that the 31-year-old is ready to play a part in Japan's home Asian Cup qualifier against Hong Kong on Oct. 8 and friendlies with Scotland and Togo.

"The Hong Kong game is a qualifier so that's the most important but hopefully we'll have scored a lot of goals by half-time," Nakamura said.

"Then I can come off and rest so I can be involved in the next two games. (Lionel) Messi comes back from Argentina and he doesn't show fatigue for Barcelona. I have to do the same."

Real still a work in progress - Capello

Barcelona are already the finished product whereas Real Madrid remain a work in progress, England coach Fabio Capello was quoted as saying.

Capello, a former Real coach, said in an interview with Spanish sports daily Marca that Manuel Pellegrini's expensively assembled Real sidewould need time to gel.

"We'll have to see what system the coach settles on and how he gets on with the players," the Italian said.

"They are a team that has just been born and we have to give them time."

Capello has tipped Barcelona to extend their successful streak.

"Barca are a young team and if they make two or three clever signings every year they could enjoy a lengthy period of success, because their approach is very good," Capello said.

Pato deal a sign of security - Leonardo

The new five-year deal Milan have agreed with Brazilian forward Alexandre Pato is a good sign for the Serie A club's future, coach Leonardo said.

"Pato is a very important player for this team, he's only 20 and has a career in front of him," Leonardo told reporters.

"Renewing his contract is a good sign of continuity, showing a desire to think of the future. He has become a transfer target, so this is a big source of security for us."

The Brazil striker, who was linked with Chelsea in the close season, is blessed with enormous skill and speed but has only shown flashes of his great potential since moving to Milan from Internacional two years ago.

Napoli boss regrets firing Reja

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis said he "made a mistake" when he sacked Edy Reja last season.

"Often when we make decisions, we get caught up in the moment and that's what happened to me when I called Roberto Donadoni," De Laurentiis said.

"I wanted to bring a new coach to shake up the locker room and send a signal to the squad, but in doing so I pushed aside a friend like Edy Reja.

"Would I take that route again? It was a decision I had to make, but with the benefit of hindsight and the experience I have now, I'd say no. I would not do that again."

Reja had taken Napoli to back-to-back promotions from Serie C1 to the top flight and even UEFA Cup qualification, but was fired in March.

Mourinho aims swipe at Del Neri

Jose Mourinho took a swipe at Sampdoria coach Luigi Del Neri after Inter's 1-0 defeat to the Genoa-based team on Saturday night. It was the second time in as many seasons that Inter lost to a team coached by Del Neri as last term they were thrashed 3-1 by Atalanta.

"Is he my bete noir?" Mourinho exclaimed after finally ending his media silence.

"He can't be, I became European champion with Porto, I left, he replaced me and was sacked after 15 days."

The malicious comment refers to Del Neri's extremely brief spell on the Porto bench in the summer of 2004.

"If this is what he said, then Mourinho would've done better to stay silent," snapped Del Neri.

"We deservedly won this match against a big club by working hard and putting in the quality too."
