Former Chelsea midfielder Sam Dalla Bona has held talks with Gianfranco Zola about the possibility of training with West Ham.

The Italian is a free agent after leaving Napoli last month and has approached former Chelsea team-mate Zola.

Dalla Bona, who made 55 appearances for Chelsea between 1999 and 2002, was approached by Serie B side Triestina on winter transfer deadline day, but he remains keen to return to the Premier League.

"I spoke with Zola and I asked him about the possibility of training with West Ham because free agents have until March to find a new club. Hopefully, during this time I can secure a move to the English Premier League," he said.

Anichebe in training bust-up

Victor Anichebe's future at Everton could be in doubt following a bust-up with manager David Moyes.

The 20-year-old Nigeria international is believed to have had a row with Moyes during training on Tuesday. Sources at the club maintain there was no face-to-face confrontation and the player was escorted from the training ground by physios.

Anichebe is thought to be upset that a deadline-day loan to Hull failed to materialise, at the same time as his first-team chances were being put into further doubt by the loan arrival of Brazilian striker Jo from Manchester City.

Dacourt sad to leave Inter

Fulham's new signing Olivier Dacourt is disappointed he was not given the opportunity to play for Inter by coach Jose Mourinho.

The French midfielder joined Fulham on loan until the end of the season after making just one appearance for Inter since Mourinho took charge last summer.

"I worked really hard during training and Mourinho's training methods are excellent," Dacourt told the Corriere dello Sport.

"It's a shame he never gave me a chance to play, even though I was told I would get one. I never argued with Mourinho, but evidently we had different ideas.

"It's hard to leave Inter because I loved it there and I want to thank the Moratti family for the two great seasons when I won the league title."

Azzurri to wear 30s shirt in Confed. Cup

The Italian national team will wear a special 1930s shirt for the Confederations Cup in South Africa between June 14 and 18.

Marcello Lippi's team will face Brazil, the US and Egypt in Group B. The other group will be composed of Spain, South Africa, Iraq and New Zealand.

The shirt, designed by Puma, will be a different shade of blue with diagonal faded stripes in the background and will have a V-neck and a bigger badge.

The kit will be similar to that worn by Vittorio Pozzo's Italy in the 1930s.

Juventus, Real vying for Hamsik

Juventus will face tough competition from La Liga champions Real Madrid for the signature of Napoli's Marek Hamsik.

The midfielder, formerly of Brescia, has become a firm favourite in Naples but over the last 12 months several big clubs have made approaches for Hamsik who played over 50 games for Napoli and scored 16 times.

Napoli supremo Aurelio De Laurentiis says the Slovak is not for sale. But, Tuttosport reported that Juve see Hamsik as the successor to Pavel Nedved and are ready to make an offer that De Laurentiis cannot refuse.

Real Madrid have also kept an eye on Hamsik and are said to be ready to join a bidding war at the end of the season.

Interest growing in Portsmouth's sale

Portsmouth have had further interest from parties looking to take over the club, reports in the British media said yesterday.

Pompey owner Sacha Gaydamak put the club up for sale in December, citing increased business commitments.

"There have been one or two interested parties but there is a process they need to go through," executive chairman Peter Storrie said.

Pompey previously denied rumours linking a South African consortium with a buy-out.

Franco-Russian businessman Gaydamak became co-owner of Portsmouth, alongside then chairman Milan Mandaric, in January 2006.

Kuranyi to stay put at Schalke

Kevin Kuranyi has no plans to leave Schalke 04 after he rejected a January move to the English Premier League.

Blackburn Rovers and Everton were both linked with moves for the Germany international on the final day of the January transfer window but the Bundesliga club pulled out of a deal.

"I've had a lot of conversations with the club in the last few days," Kuranyi said. "I'm clear in that I want to stay and prove myself at Schalke 04.

"No one becomes a really great player by running away when times are tough. I don't run away from problems and I aim to win trophies at Schalke."
