Cristiano Ronaldo is happy at Manchester United and hopes to win many more awards at Old Trafford after receiving the Ballon D'Or in a televised ceremony in Paris on Sunday.

"I feel at home there," he told France Football. "I arrived there when I was very young and I have won individual and team trophies there. I am ambitious. I have to keep on lifting individual and team trophies."

At the ceremony itself Ronaldo had refuted rumours that his mind was still set on a move to Real Madrid. "I hope everything will be good again this year," he said. "And that we'll win the Champions League again and the Premier League also, which is the club's priority."

Reid rules out Sunderland return

Former England midfielder Peter Reid has rejected an offer to manage his old club Sunderland to continue coaching the Thai national team, he said yesterday.

Reid, who managed the Black Cats from 1995-2002 said he was "enjoying tremendously" his new job with Thailand, his first national team, and was not interested in replacing Roy Keane.

"It's a great job for any manager and of course I want to go back to England at some point, but right now, I've got a new challenge on my hands," Reid told Reuters after Thailand's 6-0 drubbing of Laos yesterday.

No pressure on Adams to sell

Tony Adams has been reassured that he does not have to sell any of his squad in January after Portsmouth owner Alexandre Gaydamak put the club up for sale.

The Pompey manager has told English media that he will only let players go if he receives any "ridiculous offers".

"Is there pressure on me to sell in January?" Adams said. "The owner has said nothing changes with that and, like it was with Harry (Redknapp), he has said to me 'I'm totally supportive of you.' He thinks I'm doing a great job.

"If a ridiculous offer comes in, I'll accept it to be honest but he has not said to get rid of anyone. In fact, I might add one or two players."

Kaka plays down talk of discontent

Kaka declared that he is happy with the position he is playing for Milan after his goal helped his team beat Catania 1-0 on Sunday.

In an interview last week, Kaka said he preferred to play further forward but is being played deeper by Carlo Ancelotti after the arrival of Ronaldinho.

"When I discussed my position, I didn't mean to cause any problems in the squad," Kaka said after Sunday's win.

"My team-mates and the coach know that if I need to sacrifice for the good of the team, I will be the first one to accept that. I only said that I would probably be more useful in attack, but I can easily adapt to playing in midfield too."

Schuster downbeat before Barca clash

Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster has already thrown in the towel ahead of his injury-and suspension-hit squad's trip to play arch rivals Barcelona next weekend.

The Primera Liga champions slipped to fifth after Sunday's 4-3 defeat to Sevilla at the Bernabeu, nine points behind the Catalans.

Dutch winger Arjen Robben will miss Saturday's game at the Nou Camp because of his red card against Sevilla, and key players such as centre-back Pepe are still out injured.

"It's impossible to win at (Barca's) stadium," Schuster said at a news conference.

"They are devastating. I think it is their year," he added. "We will try to put on a good show. We won't be able to do more than that."

Beckham to arrive in Milan on Dec. 20

Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani hopes David Beckham will fall in love with the Serie A club during his short-term loan stint from Los Angeles Galaxy and decide to stay longer.

"Let's hope he falls in love, the problem is that he has lots of advertising contracts," Galliani told Sky television.

Galliani said the player would arrive in Italy later this month. "He's coming on Saturday (Dec.) 20, he'll do the medical examinations, the press conference and attend Milan vs Udinese (on Dec. 21)," Galliani told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"He'll have seven days holiday and then this adventure will start in Dubai (at Milan's winter training camp)."

Larsson not joining Aston Villa

Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill has rejected reports linking his club with a move for Swedish veteran Henrik Larsson.

Larsson is attracting interest from a host of clubs after his contract with Helsingborgs expired. Everton manager David Moyes has admitted he is monitoring Larsson's situation but O'Neill, who worked with the Swedish frontman at Celtic, has no plans to sign the 37-year-old.

"There's not a scrap of truth about it," O'Neill told Sky Sports.

"Henrik Larsson has been a fantastic footballer at Celtic, a world-class player, absolutely magnificent. I had a great time working with him. Those times have gone and it's really as simple as that."
